Helping out families displaced by the Spectrum House fire

B&D Reside Communications Team

Blog

Following the fire in Dagenham on Monday 26 August 2024, our thoughts are with all the residents impacted by this event. We are sure that all Reside residents will join us in thanking the emergency services and the British Red Cross for their prompt action.

Reside is, as a responsible local housing provider, pleased to provide what help we can to the council and the displaced residents.

Reside provides homes for rent at different levels, including Discounted Market Rent and Market Rent. The tenure offered is dependent on each household meeting certain eligibility criteria, one being the level of a household’s income. Provided households meet the eligibility
criteria required, and pass the pre-tenancy checks, Reside is making empty homes available to people in need as a result of the Spectrum Building fire.

Reside is working with a number of partner organisations to accelerate the normal process so that eligible households affected by the recent fire can be supported.

Although our team is busier than usual because of this, our existing residents should not experience any reduction in our service standards.

How you can help

The council has been coordinating donations of food, clothing and household items. Although they don’t need any further donations of those items, they have set up a fundraising page should you wish to make a donation to help the families affected: Donate now
